The Bible Study on the Book of Daniel Chapter 7

Introduction: This chapter, in its subject matter as well as its position in the central part of the book, is to the book of Daniel what the eighth chapter of Romans is to that epistle. Next to the fifty-third chapter of Isaiah (and perhaps the ninth chapter also), we have here the most precious and prominent portion of the sure word of prophecy concerning the coming of the Messiah. The chapter is worthy of the most careful prayer and study. It is referred to directly or indirectly by Christ and His apostles perhaps more than other portions of the Old Testament of similar extent. It appears to have been regarded by the Old Testament saints in the centuries preceding the Messiah’s first advent as preeminently the “word of prophecy” The first in order of the prophet’s visions is that of the four beasts, which arose out of a very tempestuous ocean in verses 1-9. And the one like the Son of man who annihilated the dominion of the fourth beast, because of the proud and blasphemous words of one of its horns, in verses 9-14. Then an Angel deciphers the hieroglyphics contained in this chapter, declaring that the four beasts, diverse one from another, represent the Four Paramount Empires of the habitable globe, which should succeed each other; and are evidently the same which were shadowed forth to King Nebuchadnezzar by another set of hieroglyphic, (see the second chapter), in verses 15-26. But for the consolation of the people of God, it is added that, at the time appointed in the counsel of (Jehovah), “the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole Heaven, shall be given to the saints of the Most High.” Also this kingdom shall never be destroyed or transferred to another people, as all the preceding dominations have been, but shall itself stand forever, in verses 27-28. It will be proper to remark that the period of a time, and a half, mentioned in the twenty-fifth verse as the duration of the dominion of the little horn that made war with the saints, had most probably its commencement in A.D. 755 or 756, when Pepin, the King of France, invested the pope with temporal power. Now this hypothesis will bring the conclusion of the period to about the year of Jesus Christ 2000, a time fixed by Jews and Christians for some remarkable revolution; when the world, as they suppose, will be renewed, the wicked cease from troubling the Church, and the saints of the Most High have dominion over the whole habitable globe. But this is all hypothesis.

I) Daniel’s Vision of the Four Winds and The Four Beasts”

Daniel: Chapter 7: (555 B.C.)

1) Read: (Daniel 7:1); in the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. KJV
1) Explanation; (Daniel 7:1); in verse one;  in the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions in his head as he was lying upon his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the gist of the matter. Here in chapter seven through chapter is sometimes called “the second book of Daniel, because it is mainly occupied with the predictions of the “fourth beast,” which pertains to the end-times.

1) Comments: (Daniel 7:1); in verse one;  this chapter, in its subject matter as well as its position in the central part of the book, is to the book of Daniel what the eighth chapter of Romans is to that epistle. It appears to have been regarded by the Old Testament saints in the centuries preceding the Messiah’s first advent as preeminently the “word of prophecy.”
2) Read: (Daniel 7:2); Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. KJV
2) Explanation; (Daniel 7:2); in verse two; I believe that “the four winds of the Heaven,” refers to wars, strife, and the judgments from God in (Jeremiah 25:32-33); and (Revelation 7:1-3). “The strove upon the great sea,” refers to large numbers of people in (Revelation 13:1); (Revelation 17:1-15).
2) Comments: (Daniel 7:2); in verse two; Daniel said, I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of the heavens (political and social agitations) were stirring up the great sea (the nations of the world.
3) Read: (Daniel 7:3); and four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. KJV
3) Explanation; (Daniel 7:3); in verse three; the Beasts are in symbolic passages that represent the kingdoms in (Revelation 17:8-11); and their rulers, and more than all the fallen angels behind these kingdoms in (Revelation 11:7); (Revelation 13:18) and (Revelation 17:8). Also the sea, has reference to a great numbers of people that came up from the people.
3) Comments: (Daniel 7:3); in verse three; And four great beasts came up out of the sea; in succession, and was different from one another.
II) Next the First Beast, a Lion; and Babylon.
4) Read: (Daniel 7:4); the first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. KJV
4) Explanation; (Daniel 7:4); in verse four; the first was like a lion; this first beast was like a lion. Also this was the Chaldean monarchy, and they were fierce and strong and made the kings absolute.
4) Comments: (Daniel 7:4); in verse four; the first was (the Babylonian empire under Nebuchadnezzar) and he was like a lion and had eagle’s wings. I looked till the wings of it were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand upon two feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
5) Read: (Daniel 7:5); and behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. KJV
5) Comments: (Daniel 7:5); in verse five; next there was a second beast; and this second beast was like a bear. This was the Persian monarchy, but was less strong and generous than the former, but no less ravenous.
5) Explanation; (Daniel 7:5); in verse five; and behold another beast, a second one the Medo-Persian empire, was like a bear, and it raised up itself on one side (or one dominion) and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth; and it was told. Arise, and devour much flesh.
6) Read: (Daniel 7:6); after this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. KJV
6) Explanation; (Daniel 7:6); in verse six; this beast was like a leopard, and his conquests were made unjustly, and like those other beasts of other prey and they were much worse.
Now these beast prey not upon those of their own kind, as wicked and unreasonable men do. The third beast was a leopard. This was the Grecian monarchy, founded by Alexander the Great. Also Alexander the Great, was active, crafty, and cruel, like a leopard.
6) Comments: (Daniel 7:6); in verse six; after this I looked, and behold, another the Grecian empire of Alexander the Great, like a leopard which had four wings of a bird on its back. The beast had also four heads (Alexander’s generals, his successors), and dominion was given to it, and they had no mercy.

III) The Fourth Beast, was non-descript; and this Beast represents the Roman Empire.
7) Read: (Daniel 7:7); After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. KJV
7) Explanation; (Daniel 7:7); in verse seven; this beast represents the Rome Empire, which was the strongest and they were the most powerful of all. Here the phrase, “And it had ten horns,” this speaks of that which was a part of the beast, and for a particular reason. But it had nothing to do with the conquests of the original Roman Empire. Now these “ten horns” portrays the ten kingdoms which will arise in the latter days, in fact, in the very near future. These ten nations will persecute the people of Israel.
7) Comments: (Daniel 7:7); in verse seven; this fourth beast was more fierce, and more formidable, and much more mischievous than any of them, this fourth beast is unlike any of the others, nor is there any among the beasts of prey to which it might be compared too.
IV) Here the Ten Horns and the “Little Horn,” They Revised Rome and Revived Grecia.
8) Read: (Daniel 7:8); I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. KJV
8) Explanation; (Daniel 7:8); in verse eight; at first, Daniel did not understand the horns. But even though the Roman Empire has come and gone, and still, “ten horns” have not yet risen to power; however, the breakup of the former Soviet Union is the beginning of the fulfillment of this passage. And you should notice that the “ten horns” were a part of the non-descript beast, which has to do with the territory which the old Roman Empire controlled. Also there came up among them another little horn, which means this one came up after the “ten horns” were fully grown. Then this “little horn” is the Antichrist. It is here that these three horns will be plucked by the “little horn,” meaning that he will defeat these countries in the battle, with the others and then submitting to him. Now this will take place in the first half of the “Great Tribulation.”
8) Comments: (Daniel 7:8); in verse eight; of this chapter a little horn represents a king who starts small in power but becomes dominant. The little horn’s eyes were like a mam’s which indicates its shrewdness and its arrogant mouth points to its boasting blasphemously against God. Also this little horn is a future world ruler whom the scripture also calls “the prince that shall come,” in (Daniel 9:26); the king who “shall do according to his will,” in (Daniel 11:36). Also he is called; “that man of sin, and “the son of perdition,” in (II Thessalonians 2:3). Also he is called “the beast,” in (Revelation 13:1-10); and the “antichrist” in (I John 2:18).
V) Here in verses 9 and 10 were the Judgments.
9) Read: (Daniel 7:9); I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. KJV
9) Explanation; (Daniel 7:9); in verse nine; here the phrase, “I beheld till the thrones were cast down,” which speaks of all the Empires, even from Babylon straight through to the Antichrist. And all of them have already been “cast down” with the exception of the “ten horns” and the “little horn.” And as surely as the others were cast down, these two kingdoms also will be cast down. We should remember that “the Ancient of days did sit,” and this refers to God the Father and His Dominion. Remember God’s Kingdom will remain forever!
9) Comments: (Daniel 7:9); in verse nine; this is the only place in the Bible that refers to God the Father as the “Ancient of Days.” This is a picture of Him in human form. And this term literally means “the elderly One, or the One has been around forever. Now our God (Jehovah), is the One who never had a beginning and will never have and end because our God created everything at the beginning of the world.
10) Read: (Daniel 7:10); a fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. KJV
10) Explanation; (Daniel 7:10); in verse ten; now the book of Revelation records a similar picture of God with Angels surrounding His throne. The Apostle John recorded that there were “thousands upon thousands” in (Revelation 5:11-12). In other words, too many Angels were there to count surrounded God’s throne and to minister to him. They were created by God. Also these Angels are spiritual beings who helped carry out His work on earth. Here Daniel saw God judging millions of people as they stood before Him. Remember, we all must stand before the One and only Almighty God, (Jehovah), and give an account of our lives. If your life were judged by God today, what would God say about it? How would God measure it against His will for us? Now we should live each day with the full awareness that we must appear before God to give an account for how we used our lives. Did you ever wonder just how your life will measure up to Him?
10) Comments: (Daniel 7:10); in verse ten; here this phrase, which said that “the books were opened” refers to this final judgment where the books were opened. Also another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books in (Revelation 20:12). Now the book of life is the Heavenly registry of all those people who have accepted Jesus Christ’s gift of Salvation in (Revelation 3:5). This book of life has all of the believer’s names that are written in the book of life and they need not fear the judgment. But unbelievers, however, will be judged according to their works, and their works, no matter how good, will not be able to save them.
11) Read: (Daniel 7:11); I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. KJV
11) Explanation; (Daniel 7:11); in verse eleven; here the great words which the horn spoke is speaking of the great opposition against our God, (Jehovah). Now at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, then the Antichrist will be killed and cast into the burning flames of Hell.
11) Comments: (Daniel 7:11); in verse eleven; the slaying of the beast represents the fall of Rome. And while this beast was destroyed, the other beasts were allowed to live for a period of time. We should remember that the beast here is the Antichrist who rises up as a part of the ruler of Satan’s evil enterprise, and then the Supreme judge of the whole world will destroy him.
Also the Antichrist is someone who is both against Jesus Christ and imitates Him in an effort to put himself in the place where our Lord Jesus Christ belongs.
12) Read: (Daniel 7:12); as concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. KJV
12) Explanation; (Daniel 7:12); in verse twelve; here the phrase, “As concerning the rest of the beasts,” this refers to the kingdoms preceding the little horn, which begins back with the Babylonian Empire. And even though these Empires have long since passed away, and still the Gentiles rule the world, and this is referred to as the “Times of the Gentiles” in (Luke 21:24). Also the prolonging will continue until the Second Coming.
12) Comments: (Daniel 7:12); in verse twelve; we learn of the destruction of the beast by the burning flame which refers to the end of the fourth kingdom, and is the revised Roman Empire. And the rest of the beasts, meaning the previous three kingdoms, would continue to exist but without their earlier dominance, until this coming of the Messianic Kingdom.
13) Read: (Daniel 7:13); I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. KJV
13) Explanation; (Daniel 7:13); in verse thirteen; now the beastly kingdoms of the world are now replaced by a just and righteous kingdom which is ruled by a human like figure, the Son of Man. And He is none other than our Lord Jesus Christ in (Matthew 9:6); and (Mark 10:45). We should remember that Jesus Christ first came to earth as the Son of Man to suffer and die. And Jesus will come a second time as the Son of Man to defeat His enemies and set up His eternal kingdom on earth in (Revelation chapter 20).
13) Comments: (Daniel 7:13); in verse thirteen;  notice that the four beasts of this seventh chapter of Daniel symbolize the same world kingdoms that were pictured by the images in Daniel 2, and the ten horns of the last beast correspond to the ten toes of the legs of iron (Daniel 2:41-42). Much of both prophecies has been fulfilled, and at this writing “the blessed hope” (Titus 2:13): of the ages is also showing every evidence of nearing realization. Both visions portray the end of Gentile world power. View the events of the present in the light of these disclosures, and they fall into focus and make sense. The individual child of God is challenged as never before in the world’s history to let go of the trivial and the transient, and to yield himself unreservedly to Him Who is coming back to fulfill the longings of every true believer in Jesus Christ forever and ever!
14) Read: (Daniel 7:14); and there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. KJV
14) Explanation; (Daniel 7:14); in verse fourteen; here this phrase, “one like a son of man” is the Messiah, Jesus used this verse to refer to Himself in (Matthew 26:64); and (Luke 21:27); and (John 1:51). Here I believe that verses 13 and 14, are referring to the same person which is the “Son of Man,” which refers to Jesus Christ, who receives a kingdom of “everlasting dominion” from “God the Father.” This is a clear prediction of the Messiah’s coronation to rule as King over the world during the Millennium. Also the phrase, that there was given Him dominion; means that our Lord Jesus will reign over all things. Now we can read all about this in these scriptures; (I Corinthians 15:27-28); (Ephesians 1:20-23); (Philippians 2:9-11); (Revelation 17:14); and (Revelation 19:10).
14) Comments: (Daniel 7:14); in verse fourteen; now some have maintained that the Son of man is the archangel Michael or a collective personification of the “Saints of the Most High” in verse 18. Here this One is none other than the divine Messiah Himself, who will fulfill the destiny of humanity. (Please read these scriptures; (Psalms chapter 8); and (Hebrews 2:5-18).
15) Read: (Daniel 7:15); I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. KJV
15) Explanation; (Daniel 7:15); in verse fifteen; also Daniel said that he was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. Here Daniel believed that he saw an appearance of a man and he supposed that the Spirit was the Messiah in his vision.
15) Comments: (Daniel 7:15); in verse fifteen; Here Daniel said that he was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. Now these visions made deep impressions upon the prophet Daniel. But God in them put honor upon him, and gave him satisfaction, yet not without a great allay of pain and perplexity.
16) Read: (Daniel 7:16); I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. KJV
16) Explanation; (Daniel 7:16); in verse sixteen; here the phrase, “one of them who stood by,” and this refers to the countless numbers who are standing before the Throne of God. And many bible scholars quite possibly, believe that this is the Angel Gabriel; however, we have no proof of this event.
16) Comments: (Daniel 7:16); in verse sixteen; Here Daniel said that he came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. It is a very desirable thing to take the night and full sense of what we see and hear from God; and those that would know must ask by faithful and fervent prayer and by accomplishing a diligent search when we ask our God for help.
17) Read: (Daniel 7:17); these great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. KJV
17) Explanation; (Daniel 7:17); in verse seventeen; here these great beasts, which are the four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. They are Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. “Which shall arise out of the Earth,” and they simply mean that they are of the people, of man, and therefore, are not of God. Also the Kingdom of verse 14 is of God and from God, and consequently will last forever.
17) Comments: (Daniel 7:17); in verse seventeen; here the Angel Gabriel addressed Daniel as the son of man, but he did not use the Hebrew equivalent of the Aramaic title given to the Messiah, which points to the Messiah’s divinity in (Daniel 7:13). Now the phrase used here emphasizes the human weakness and mortality of Daniel. Also the Angel Gabriel indicated that the vision referred to the time of the end. This is surprising because all of the events predicted took place between the sixth and second centuries B. C. and do not appear to be end-time events. But the readers through the ages have identified Antiochus as the little horn of chapter eight, but also have recognized that he typifies the coming end-time Antichrist. Although this chapter does directly refer to Antiochus, and it also pertains to the end times. And there is a double fulfillment of this vision.
18) Read: (Daniel 7:18); But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even for ever and ever. KJV
18) Explanation; (Daniel 7:18); in verse eighteen; here the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever. Now the “Saints” in this scripture refers to Israel and they will be restored and become the leading nation in the world under our Lord Jesus Christ.
18) Comments: (Daniel 7:18); in verse eighteen; we are talking about the “Saints of the Most High” and they are the true Israel, and these people will be ruled by the Messiah. Also our Lord Jesus Christ gave the kingdom to the new Israel, His church, which are made up of all faithful believers. And His coming will ushered in the Kingdom of God, and all believers are its citizens (Daniel 7:22-27). But God (Jehovah) may allow persecution to continue for a while, also the destiny of His followers is to possess the kingdom and be with Him forever.
19) Read: (Daniel 7:19); Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; KJV
19) Explanation; (Daniel 7:19); in verse nineteen; here the “fourth beast,” is a symbol of the old Roman Empire, and is the fourth of four kingdoms in succession. And it is mentioned by name only in the New Testament in (John 11:48); (Acts 2:10); and (Acts 16:21); Also “his nails of brass,” they present something added, which is not mentioned in the description given in verses seven and eight. But they symbolize the Grecian Empire element of the image of (Daniel 2:39-45).
19) Comments: (Daniel 7:19); in verse nineteen; here the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet. Now this means that the Antichrist will have characteristics of both of the Roman Empire and the ancient Grecian Empire.
20) Read: (Daniel 7:20); And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. KJV
20) Explanation; (Daniel 7:20); in verse twenty; here we should remember that “the other which came up” is the same as the “little horn” in verse eight, and is the Antichrist, who will come on the world scene shortly after the Rapture of the Church in (II Thessalonians 2:7-8).
20) Comments: (Daniel 7:20); in verse twenty; and about the ten horns (representing kings) that were on its head, and the other horn which came up later and before which three of (the horns) fell, the horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things and which looked greater than the others. This “little horn,” is same one that the Apostle John spoke about in the book of Revelation, which is called the “Antichrist.” Also this “little horn,” or the fourth kingdom, in its future state, will devour the whole earth, which indicated a world domination. And these “ten kings,” could be a metaphor for completeness. Here I believe that it refers to an empire with a literal confederation of ten kings that we can read about in the book of (Revelation 17:12-13).
21) Read: (Daniel 7:21); I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; KJV
21) Explanation; (Daniel 7:21); in verse twenty-one; here the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them. Now the word “Saints” mentioned here are not the Church, but rather it is Israel. Now the word war which is spoken of here concerns the Antichrist signing a seven-year nonaggression pact with Israel, and later on the Antichrist breaking it at approximately in midpoint, then he declared war on Israel.
21) Comments: (Daniel 7:21); in verse twenty-one; here the prophet Daniel understands the first three beasts, but concerning the fourth,
Daniel desires to know what the little horn was that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke war with the saints, and prevailed against them.
22) Read: (Daniel 7:22); Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the Kingdom. KJV
22) Explanation; (Daniel 7:22); in verse twenty-two; here the phrase of the Ancient of days that came, this refers to verses 9, 13 and 14. And it does not actually mean that God the Father will come to Earth at this time, but instead, it means that our Lord God will direct the proceedings from His Throne in Heaven.
22) Comments: (Daniel 7:22); in verse twenty-two; Also the phrase here, “and the time came that the Saints possessed the kingdom,” this refers to the Second Coming of the Lord. And this will be when Israel will then accept Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord, and the Messiah, and will be restored and brought back to her rightful place and position with God.
23) Read: (Daniel 7:23); Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. KJV
23) Explanation; (Daniel 7:23); in verse twenty-three; here the Angel Gabriel speaks to Daniel, and he tells him that the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Now this refers to the ferocity and the total power of the Roman Empire. This means that he will rule the world not too much and it will be just short of a thousand years.
23) Comments: (Daniel 7:23); in verse twenty-three; here the fourth kingdom, in its future state, which will devour the whole earth, indicating world domination. And the ten kings could be a metaphor for completeness. But more likely, it refers to an empire with a literal confederation of 10 kings in (Revelation 17:12-13).
24) Read: (Daniel 7:24); and the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. KJV
24) Explanation; (Daniel 7:24); in verse twenty-four; here we discover that the ten horns that comes out of this kingdom are the ten kings that will arise to fight against the Lord God and His people. Also some teach that the ten toes and the ten horns of (Daniel chapters 2 and 7); are none other than the ten barbarous tribes which overran the old Roman Empire in A.D. 351-474. However, this is an error because of the following statement. Now I believe that the Word of God tells us that our God of Heaven is to set up a Kingdom on Earth “in the days of these kings” in (Daniel 2:44-45); (Revelation 19:11); and (Revelation 20:7). Also it should be obvious to all that the Lord did not set up such a Kingdom in A.D. 351-474. But we know that He has not yet done so; therefore, it is obvious that the “ten horns” will represent the ten nations which are in the future.
24) Comments: (Daniel 7:24); in verse twenty-four; now the ten horns, or the ten kings, are also mentioned in (Revelation 17:12). And there were also ten toes in King Nebuchadnezzar’s vision in (Daniel 2:41-42). We should remember that all does not agree concerning the identity of these ten kings. Now we are reminded in the book of (Revelation 17:12-14); that these kings will make war against our Lord Jesus Christ. But, as the king of kings, our Lord Jesus Christ will conquer them. Also the other king mentioned here in verse 24 is the future Antichrist of
25) Read: (Daniel 7:25); and he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. KJV
25) Explanation; (Daniel 7:25); in verse twenty-five; here Daniel tells us that he shall speak great words against the “Most High,” and this is used several times by the Holy Spirit in various ways, which draws our attention to the blasphemy of the Antichrist. Also the phrase, “and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” This refers to Israel being defeated and being greatly persecuted for a period of three and a half years.
25) Comments: (Daniel 7:25); in verse twenty-five; now the exact meaning of this “time, times and half a time” is debated. There are many bible scholars which believe that “time” means one year; “times” means two years; and “half a time” means half a year. And this would refer to three and a half years. Also God’s people will be placed under this king’s control and the persecution will continue only a relatively short time. And our God (Jehovah), has promised to give his kingdom to his Saints.
26) Read: (Daniel 7:26); But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. KJV
26) Explanation; (Daniel 7:26); in verse twenty-six; here the Angel refers back to verse ten. “But the Judgment shall sit,” which refers to the Throne of God and the Judgment passed upon the Antichrist by that Heavenly Court.
26) Comments: (Daniel 7:26); in verse twenty-six; the Angel Gabriel instructed Daniel to “shut up the vision” but not for the purpose of hiding its meaning from faithful readers of the Scripture but rather to secure the document for safe keeping into the distant future. Now this could mean that the time of Antiochus, which was some 400 hundred years after the vision was given. Also the time of the Antichrist which is yet future and is typified by Antiochus IV as a type of Antichrist.
27) Read: (Daniel 7:27); And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. KJV
27) Explanation; (Daniel 7:27); in verse twenty-seven; here this scripture is true and is the greatest kingdom under the whole Heaven, which refers to the entirety of the Earth. Also our Lord Jesus Christ will reign over all of it as the Supreme Ruler.
27) Comments: (Daniel 7:27); in verse twenty-seven; the Son of man will take His throne and rule over His everlasting Kingdom. Then the people that are the believing remnant of Israel, and they are called Saints and will receive this kingdom under the authority of their Messiah, the Son of man.
28) Read: (Daniel 7:28); Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart. KJV
28) Explanation; (Daniel 7:28); in verse twenty-eight; Daniel said, my cogitations much troubled me, but I kept the matter in my heart. Here in this verse Daniel the Prophet indicates that despite the interpretation of the Angel Gabriel, he still did not fully comprehend the extent of his vision.
28) Comments: (Daniel 7:28); in verse twenty-eight; here the end of the matter; is so said by the expounding Angel; and he said so because the purpose of God had determined it. Also in considering these things, and looking at the evils that shall come upon the world before those auspicious times can take place. And I may say, with Daniel, that my cogitations much troubled me. Also my countenance changed in me, but I keep the matter of my conjectures and consequent feeling in my own heart.
A) Now this concludes our Bible Study on the seventh chapter of the Book of Daniel. Next week we will continue our bible studies in the chapter eight of the Book of Daniel. Please be much in prayer for me as I try to teach this great book of the Bible.
B) Remember; if you are not saved our God has the power to save anyone that calls upon the name of Jesus Christ and repents of their sins. Now all that are lost need God’s power because we have a problem with sin. The Bible tells us that “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23).
C) Now you can find the way to Heaven in the book of (Romans 10:9). This scripture in the bible tells us that “If you confess with your mouth, that “Jesus is Lord,” and that you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
D) We all need to confess our sins and ask God for his forgiveness. When you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord, then this involves an agreeing with God about your sin and your need for Salvation. You must repent of your own personal sins, by doing this you are willing to turn away from the direction in life in which you are going.
E) Now to “believe in your heart” is to place your faith in Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, also you are trusting that Jesus died on the Cross to pay for your sins. But our God proves His own love for us in that while we were sill sinners, Jesus Christ died for all of us. (Romans 5:8).
F) Before we close chapter 7 of the book of Daniel, I would just like to say, I believe that all the scriptures are very important to all of God’s people and every Christian should know and keep them in his heart. I believe that our Lord Jesus said these scriptures in the book of (Matthew 22:37-39). Then one of Pharisees ask Jesus a question and he called Him Master. Which is the great commandment in the Law? Then Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matthew 22:37); Now in verse 38, Jesus said, “This is the first and great commandment.” (Matthew 22:38); Here in verse 39, our Lord Jesus said, and the second is like it,
G) “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:39); Also our Lord Jesus said, this in verse 40, “On these two commandment’s hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:40); Remember we that are believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and know Jesus as our own personal Savior. Also we should give Him praise and thank Him every day of our life. Why? Because Jesus shed His precious blood on that old rugged Cross so that we all could be free and have eternal life with Him in Heaven. But while we are waiting we must be telling everyone about God’s Salvation Plan. And that plan is called the “Gospel” or the “Good News,” this is the job of every born again believer that calls Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior.
H) Now in the book of Matthew, in chapter 28, these scriptures tells us that the disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them to go. (Matthew 28:16); and when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. (Matthew 28:17); and Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All authority is given unto me in Heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18); In verse 19; Jesus said, go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, which is Jesus, and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19); Also in verse 20, Jesus said, teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world, (age). Amen. (Matthew 28:20);
I) Now you have just finish reading the two scriptures in the book of (Matthew 28:19-20). Most people that are Christians go to church on Sunday morning and then go out to eat lunch or a late dinner. But I would like to ask everyone a few questions about whose job it is to tell the “Good News” or the “Gospel”? Most Christians believe that this is the job of the pastor because that why we pay him for. But then there are the other type of Christians that believe that this job belongs to the Deacon in the church. Well, guess what, I believe that telling the Gospel is my job and every born again believers that has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Yes that means all of us are commanded to go, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, which is Jesus, and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19); Remember time is running out for all those that are not saved. Also I believe that we are living in those last days right now and we as Christians have very little time left to tell our love ones and those who may not be saved about our Lord Jesus Salvation Plan. And that plan is called the “Gospel” or the “Good News,” this is the job of every born again believer that calls Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior.
J) Remember, if you would like to have Salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ, you sincerely pray a prayer like this one; “Please God, I confess to you my sins and I need for you to save me right now. I turn away from my sins and I place my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord of my life forever. Amen.”
K) Note: Now this concludes our Bible Study on the seventh chapter of the Book of Daniel. Please be much in prayer for me as I try to teach the eighth chapter of this great book of Daniel.
