The book of James is the twentieth book of the New Testament. This epistle of James was written by James, the brother of the Lord. James was a man of great authority as head of the first Christian church at Jerusalem. He writes to the Christian Jews that are scattered throughout the Roman Empire and this Epistle is probably one of the earliest New Testament books. This Epistle can be divided into five parts: 1) The testing of faith. 2) The reality of faith tested by control of the tongue. 3) The rebuke of worldliness. 4) The rich warned. 5) The exhortations in view of the coming of the Lord.
