God’s Warning To the Backslider

There are many people in this world that are not living for God and are in a backsliding condition. Some people are even going to church and may not realize they are a backslider. A backslider can return to the Lord by repenting their sins and submitting their life back to God, and he will forgive them. God says, though man’s ways are not his ways, there is nevertheless hope for the backslider. You can read about the story of the Prodigal Son and how the Father welcomed his son back home. God will do the same for you the backslider too because he loves you. Below you will find many scriptures on backsliders. Please take the time to read them and study God’s Word and may God bless you always.

(Luke 15:20) “But when he was yet a great way off his Father saw him, and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

(Jeremiah 3:12-14) “Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger forever. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith, the Lord; for I am married unto you.”

(Hosea 14:4) “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, and for mine anger is turned away from him.”

(Psalms 32:5) “I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.”

(Hosea 12:6) “Therefore turn thou to thy God; Keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.”

(Job 22:23) “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shall be built up, thou shall put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.”
