Things We Should Know About Heaven

In the beginning God created the Heaven and earth and Heaven is God’s dwelling place. Heaven is also the future home of all the righteous ones that are saved. Chapter 21 and chapter 22 of the book of Revelation tells all about heaven and who will be there for all eternity. The questions below will help you understand some important facts about Heaven.

Revelation chapter 21

Is there a New Heaven? Yes, “And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth; for the first Heaven and the first earth were passed away, there was no more sea.” (Revelation 21:1)

Who will dwell and live in Heaven? All of those who have accepted Jesus as their personal savior by faith.

A) God the Father will be in Heaven. (Revelation 4:2), (Revelation 5:7)

B) Jesus the Son will be in Heaven. (Revelation 5:6)

C) The Holy Spirit will be in Heaven. (Revelation 14:13), (Revelation 22:17)

D) All the Holy and the Angels. (Revelation 5:11) (Hebrews 12:22)

E) The 24 Elders will be in Heaven. (Revelation 4:4), (Revelation 4:10-11)

F) The saved Israel will be in Heaven. (Revelation 14:1-3), (Revelation 15:1-3), (Matthew 25:10)

G) The Bride, which is the Church. (Revelation 19:1-8), (Revelation 21:1), (Revelation 9-11)

H) All the redeemed that ever lived. (Revelation 5:9), (Revelation 7:9-10)

Who will not have a home in Heaven? Satan and his angels, and all those, who have not accepted Jesus as their personal savior.

A) The scripture tells us all the fearful ones. (Revelation 21:8)

B) All the unbelieving ones will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

C) All the abominable ones will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

D) All the murderers will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

E) All the whoremongers will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

F) All the sorcerers will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

G) All the Idolaters will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

H) All the Liars will not be in Heaven. (Revelation 21:8)

I) Also there will be no wise enter into it and not any things that defileth Heaven. (Revelation 21:8), (Revelation 22:15)

What is the size and just how big is Heaven? (Revelation 21:16)

A)The city is measured and found to be 12,000 furlongs long, 12,000 furlongs wide and 12,000 furlongs high. You must convert the furlongs into our modern measurements and this will give you the size of Heaven.

B) In other words Heaven is 1,500 miles long, 1,500 miles wide and 1,500 miles high.

C) Heaven is a perfect cube in size and foursquare means perfect in size.

What is the height of the walls in Heaven? (Revelation 21:17)

A) The wall measures 144 cubits, according to the measure of man, and of the angel.

B) By using today’s measurements, the wall is 216 feet high and they are made of Jasper. (Revelation 21:18)

How many gates are in Heaven? (Revelation 21:12-13) and  (Revelation 21:21-23)

A) There are 12 gates, 3 on the north, 3 on the south, 3 on the east and 3 on the west.

B) On each gate is the name of one of the tribes of Israel.

C) Each gate is guarded by an angel.

D) Each gate is made of a beautiful white pearl.

E) These gates will never be closed at daytime, why, because there is no night there.

How many foundations are there in Heaven? (Revelation 21:14, Revelation 21:19-20)

A) There are 12 foundations in Heaven and in them are the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb.

B) These foundations are inlaid with 12 different precious gems or beautiful stones.

1) The first foundation is inlaid with Jasper, a crystal clear diamond,as bright as a transparent icicle in the sunshine. (Revelation 21:18-19)

2) The second foundation is inlaid with Sapphire, a blue opaque stone with gold specks. (Revelation 21:19)

3) The third foundation is inlaid with Chalcedony, a sky blue stone with stripes of other colors running through it. (Revelation 21:19)

4) The fourth foundation is inlaid with Emerald, a bright green stone. (Revelation 21:20), (Revelation 4:3)

5) The fifth foundation is inlaid with Sardonyx, a white stone with layers of Red. (Revelation 21:20)

6) The sixth foundation is inlaid with Sarduis, a fiery red stone. (Revelation 21:20), (Revelation 4:3)

7) The seventh foundation is inlaid with Chrysolyte, a transparent golden yellow stone. (Revelation 21:20)

8) The eighth foundation is inlaid with Beryl, a sea-green stone. (Revelation 21:20)

9) The ninth foundation is inlaid with Topaz, a transparent golden green stone. (Revelation 21:20)

10) The tenth foundation is inlaid with Chrysoprasus, a blue-green stone. (Revelation 21:20)

11) The eleventh foundation is inlaid with Jacinth, a violet stone. (Revelation 21:20), (Revelation 9:17)

12) The twelfth foundation is inlaid with Amethyst, a flashing purple stone. (Revelation 21:20)

Does Heaven have streets or buildings? Yes, read (Revelation 21:18), (Revelation 21:21)

A) The streets are pure gold, and as it were transparent glass.

B) The city was a pure gold, like clear glass.

Revelation Chapter 22

Does Heaven have a throne? Yes, read (Revelation 22:3), (Revelation 4:2-6)

A) A throne is a chair occupied by one in authority, someone like a high priest, a Judge or a King. You can read about the throne also in (Genesis 41:40), (II Samuel 3:10), (Nehemiah 3:7), (I Kings 10:18), (Proverbs 16:12)

Does Heaven have a River? Yes, read (Revelation 22:1), (Psalms 46:4)

Will there be singing in Heaven? Yes, read (Revelation 5:9).

Will Heaven be a place of service? Yes, read (Revelation 22:3), (Revelation 7:15).

A) His servants shall serve him all day in his Temple. (Revelation 7:16-17).

How long will we live in Heaven? Read (Revelation 22:5).

A) They shall reign forever and ever with Jesus.

Will we get a reward? Yes, read (Revelation 22:12).

A) “Behold I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

B) For the Son of man shall, come in glory of his Father with his Angels, and then, he shall reward every man according to his works.
