God’s Ten Commandments That Were Given to Moses For God’s People

Introduction

In God’s Holy Word the Ten Commandments was given to Moses for all the people to follow and to live by as a nation which was called Israel. Now these Ten Commandments were the laws from God’s and He instructed Moses to tell His people that they were to obey these Laws. I believe that these Ten Commandments are probably the ten most important rules which have ever been written. Now if we as Christians, follow them, we will show our Lord God how much we as His believers love Him. We should always remember that the first rule is the most important one of all. If we always put our Lord God first in our lives, all of the other things will come in at the right places. You can find these Ten Commandments in the book of (Exodus 20:3-17).1) Some of you might ask the question. Why can’t we do what we want to do? Then I would answer you with my question. What kind of a world would we live in? Can you image a world where there is no traffic rules, there would be no traffic lights or no stop sighs. Then each person could drive as fast as he wanted to drive. Maybe he would like to drive on the other side of the road. Then maybe he would drive on the sidewalks if he wanted to. Then my question would be to you, if there were no traffic rules, what would you do then? Then my second question to you would be, If there were no traffic laws , would you still take your little brother or sister, or maybe you would take some other family member of your out on the street for a summer walk in a busy city or to town. Do you think that you would safe out there without any rules.

2) Then some of the people ask more questions. Why do we need rules in our spiritual life? Why can’t we just do what we want to do? Here the same thing would happen. (Judges 17:6); tells about a time in Israel when “every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” But it was not a good time. (Please read: (Isaiah 53:6); Here we all are trying to make our own rules instead of following God’s rules? What did our God do for us? Well, I do know that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross. It was there that He shed His precious blood for our sins so that the whole world could be saved through Him and because our Savior Jesus died and rose from the grave so that we might have eternal life in Heaven forever and ever with Him. We should remember what Jesus said, If a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my saying; and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me. Here these things have I spoken unto you, being with you. But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said unto you. (John 14:23-26);

3) Now God gave us Ten Commandments or ten simple rules at Mount Sinai. If you love our God (Jehovah), it should be easy to keep these rules. But I believe that no one except our Lord Jesus has been able to keep them all throughout His lifetime. That’s why the Lord Jesus had to come, to provide a new way to God. Please read the ten rules or the Ten Commandments, below, as they might be worded today.

  • Always put God first. Nothing should come before Him in our lives.
  • We should worship nothing but God. Don’t set up any “idols” to worship, such as statues, money, things, power, or anything else. Worship God only.
  • Don’t use God’s name foolishly. God wants His people to honor His name, never to speak it in a foolish way, such as swearing.
  • Use God’s Day for God’s Honor. God’s Day is a Holy Day. It should bring Honor to Him.
  • Respect Your Parents. They are God’s chosen leaders over a person during his childhood. They should be honored as God’s leaders.
  • Don’t Murder. Murder is sin, and God has commanded that we are not to do it.
  • Don’t pretend that someone else is a husband or a wife. God says it is wrong for someone to act as though another person is a wife or husband.
  • Don’t steal. Stealing is taking something which is not ours and for which we have not worked for.
  • Don’t lie. Lying tries to make something look different from what it is. It tries to make us two different people. Nobody can trust a liar.
  • Don’t Covet. Wanting what others have leads people to do wrong to get them. Coveting puts us “in debt” to things, for we are never satisfied until we get them. It kills our happiness, which we should have in the Lord.

4) Our forefathers came to America, so they could practice the freedom of their religion and worship God in this country. Now there are some people that do not believe in God and they are called Atheist people. These Atheist people have partitioned the Court Systems and used the help of other organizations, such as the Civil Liberties Union, to take Prayer out of all our schools. This organization has also succeeded in removing the Ten Commandments from all public places and all the courthouses too. Now as of June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court has ruled on the same sex marriage. Also it is legalized in all 50 states as of now in this great country that we call the United States of America that any two men or any two women that desire to get married and live together as a traditional couple as man and wife. This is wrong and is not what our God (Jehovah), tells us that a marriage is in His Holy Word the Bible.

5) Here in verse seven, our Lord God says I am the Lord your God, and therefore be Holy, so that you may resemble Him whose people you are, and may be pleasing to Him. God tells us that Holiness becomes His house and also His household too. “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death.” Please read all of the Scriptures below; (Leviticus 20:1-27);

6) Our God’s Law does not allow for two men or two women to get married and live together as a gay and lesbian couple for it is a sin to live this kind of life style in any state of this great country of ours because we are supposed to be a Christian and a God fearing nation under God. Now because it is a sin against our God and that is why two men or two women cannot get married and live together as a couple in this great country of ours. I believe that there is no other country like the United States which was a Christian nation but now these religions rights have been taken away from the people.

7) This is a disgrace to all Christians and a dishonor to God’s Kingdom. This should have never happen in this great country of ours. Remember you can put God’s Word in your heart and kept his Word forever. Below are the Ten Commandments, which is God’s laws and rules and everyone should use them as a guideline in their daily life.

The Ten Commandments can be found in the book of Exodus. (Exodus 20:3-17); Please take the time to read them and study God’s Word and may God bless you. Also these same Ten Commandments can be found in the book of (Deuteronomy 5:6).

I.) Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.

II.) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images, or any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My commandments.

III.) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His Name in vain.

IV.) Remember the Sabbath-day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor the stranger that is within thy gates; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath-day and hallowed it.

V.) Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

VI.) Thou shalt not kill.

VII.) Thou shalt not commit adultery.

VIII.) Thou shalt not steal.

IX.) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

X.) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife’ nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.

A) The purpose of this bible study is about God’s Ten Commandments and where you can find them in God’s Holy Word the Bible. We as Christians should always ask our God to help us when a terrible sickness such as cancer comes to a love one in our family. I believe that there is only one answer and that is to pray for this love one and ask our Lord Jesus Christ to have mercy on them and trust in Him to heal her or him of that illness. Please read these scriptures in the book of (James 5:13-16).

B) Remember; if you are not saved our God has the power to save anyone that calls upon the name of Jesus Christ and repents of their sins. Now all that are lost need God’s power because we have a problem with sin. The Bible tells us that “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23).

C) Now you can find the way to Heaven in the book of (Romans 10:9). This scripture in the bible tells us that “If you confess with your mouth,” that “Jesus is Lord,” and that you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

D) We all need to confess our sins and ask God for his forgiveness. When you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord, then this involves an agreeing with God about your sin and your need for Salvation. You must repent of all your own personal sins, by doing this you are willing to turn away from the direction in life in which you are going.

E) Now to “believe in your heart” is to place your faith in Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. Also you are trusting that Jesus died on the Cross to pay for your sins. But our God proves His own love for us in that while we were sill sinners, Jesus Christ died for all of us. (Romans 5:8).

F) Remember, if you would like to have Salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ, you sincerely pray a prayer like this one; “Please God, I confess to you my sins and I need for you to save me right now. Then I will turn away from my sins and I place my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord of my life forever.” Amen.

G) In closing this bible study about The Ten Commandments, we should never forget to pray for all of your family and friends and for anyone that does not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. And be sure to give our Lord Jesus Christ all the praise, the glory, and honor for any healing that you might receive from Him.

H) We as Christians should never forget the price that He (Jesus), had to pay for our sin on the Cross at Calvary. Now I would like to say one more thing about praying for the sick. When our daughter Donna became ill and we first found out that she had cancer. Her Mother and I started a prayer chain with our family and our Church which is the East-view Baptist Church which is located in a small place called Franklin, Ohio and our Pastor’s name is Dwaine Tilford, and I believe that he is one of the greatest bible believing preacher of God’s Holy Word.

I) I would always advice anyone who has a love one that has a terrible sickness like cancer. Please go to our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer and just ask Jesus to heal your love one, and I believe that He will answer your prayer because it is God’s Will that His children be safe from all harm. And after Donna’s first operation on her breast cancer and the doctors told our family that she has no more that 18 months to live. But our faith in God’s healing was strong and we knew that our God healed people. Because our daughter Donna is cancer free as of today and she is much better because God answered all of our prayers. Amen.

J) Remember, there is always hope if you have called upon the one and only name of Jesus Christ and confess your sins to Him. After this you must ask Jesus to save you, because He died upon that old rugged Cross and paid for our sins by the shedding of His precious blood. Then Jesus was buried in a tomb and He rose on the third day in victory over that grave and death. Because of this victory over the grave and death, we as sinners can call upon the name of Jesus and He will forgive us of all our sins and save us for His own. Then we that are born again, in our Lord Jesus Christ, have a home in Heaven for all eternity. Remember our Hope is always been in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now in the book of Revelation, the Apostle John tells us that He will return with a large army from the East and attack the evil forces of the Antichrist in the valley of Megiddo, and this will occurs at the end of the tribulation period.

K) We should also remember that the signs of the returning Son of Man will appear in the Heavens in (Matthew 24:29-30). Here all the opposing armies will unite to fight our Lord Jesus Christ. But the Lord Jesus will descend from Heaven with His armies, and He will defeat both armies, and take captive of that old Satan, the Antichrist, and the false prophet and cast them into the lake of fire in the book of (Revelation 19:11-21). Also we should read the scriptures in the book of (Zechariah 12:1-9); (Zechariah 14:1-3). Here the Antichrist shall come to his end, and there will be no one to help him. (Daniel 11:45).
L) I would always advice anyone who has a love one that has a terrible sickness like cancer. Please go to our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer and just ask Jesus to heal your love one, and I believe that He will answer your prayer because it is God’s Will that His children be safe from all harm. K) Note: Now this concludes our Bible Study on God’s Ten Commandments that was given by Moses for God’s people and these Ten Commandments are listed in the two books of (Exodus 20:3-17); and (Deuteronomy 5:6). Please pray earnestly for God’s power to work in your lives and to help all of us to understand the scriptures of God’s Holy Word the Bible. Please pass this bible study on to other people if it has helped you in anyway. Remember that all the material is free on this web-site and I don’t believe in paying for God’s Holy Word.

Baptism Is Commanded By God and Practiced By Others

The bible plainly teaches that every believer should confess Christ in baptism. Let us not neglect baptism; neither thinks just because we have been baptized that we are saved. You have to confess your sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation, and then you can be baptized. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, in the river of Jordan and John also baptized many others too. There is so much we could say about baptism, such as the conversion of Saul in the book of Acts, chapter 9. Here Saul was blinded on the road near Damascus, and the Lord told him to go and see a certain disciple by the name of Ananias. When Saul was there 3 days he received his eyesight back and was filled with the Holy Spirit and immediately he arose, and was baptized and went to preach the gospel. Below you will find many scriptures on baptism. Please take the time to read them and study God’s Word and may God bless you always.
