John is the fourth book of the Gospels in the New Testament. John, the writer of this Gospel, was the son of Zebedee and one the twelve disciples. John purpose in this Gospel was, as he plainly declares, “that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.” This Gospel of John can be divided into seven parts: 1) The Prologue; the Eternal Word Incarnate in the Son of God. 2) The witness of John the Baptist to the Son of God. 3) The Son of God manifesting His power in public ministry. 4) The private ministry of the Son of God. 5) The sacrifice of the Son of God. 6) The Manifestation of the Son of God in Resurrection. 7) The Epilogue; the risen Son of God, the Master of Life and Service.
