Questions about the Book of Haggai

Haggai is the thirtieth-seventh book of the Old Testament. Haggai, whose name means, festive, was one of the early post-captivity prophets. Haggai’s ministry was to rebuke the returned exiles for their delay in rebuilding the Temple and to encourage them to set to work. This book can be divided into five parts: 1) The first message of rebuke, 2) The first message of encouragement, 3) The second message of encouragement; the future glory of the Temple, 4) The second message of rebuke, 5) The third message of encouragement; the final overthrow of Gentile world power.
