God tells us in the New Testament scriptures, he offers to the lost, salvation, and for the faithful service of the saved, he also offers them rewards that can be earned by their works. God will give these rewards in the future, at the time of the rapture of the church. In the book of (Psalms 58:11) the bible tells of men that say, verily there is a reward for the righteous; and verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth. But when thou pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:2) In (Matthew 5:12), God tells us to rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in Heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you. Listed below are some chapters and verses of the rewards that Christians can have when they get to Heaven.
1) Jesus said, “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his Angels, and then he shall reward every man according to his works. (Matthew 16:27)
2) He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. (Matthew 10:41)
3) Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad; for great is your reward in Heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:12)
4) That thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:4)
5) And, behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (Revelation 22:12)
6) If any mans work abide which he has built upon it, he shall receive a reward. (I Corinthians 3:14-15)
7) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt? (Romans 4:4)
P.S. The “Reward” of the godly from God, is the blessings he bestows on them in consequence of their good works, and particularly the unmerited gift of eternal life in Heaven, which is bestowed upon them from the mercy of God, and through the righteousness of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:12). It is not, therefore, a reward based upon the actual merit of good works, but it is His grace.
I believe that every born again Christian has a talent to serve God and we should use that gift to help others and tell the unsaved people about the gospel of Jesus and His love for them. We as Christians should be using our time wisely to do the good works for our Lord and Savior. By doing this the unsaved people can see that Jesus is working in our life daily. We can do this by witnessing to others about the Gospel and telling the good news of Jesus Christ and tell them how they too can receive Him as their personal Savior so they can have eternal life through Jesus too. We should also demonstrate the love of Jesus by helping feed the hungry and poor and minister to the sick too. Jesus said, “For unto everyone that hath shall be given, and he shall have an abundance, but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” (Matthew 25:29)
The privileges, in the kingdom of God are determined by our faithfulness in this life. This truth may come as a shock to some Christians. The kingdom of God will not be the same for all believers. Some believers will be entrusted with certain privileges and other believers will not. Some believers will reign with Christ and other believers will not. (II Timothy 2:12) Some believers will be rich in the kingdom of God and other believers will be poor. (Luke 12:21-33) Some believers will be given true riches and other believers will not. (Luke 16:12) Some believers will reign and rule with Jesus and other believers will not. (Revelation 3:21) It is true that there will be equality in terms of our inclusion in the kingdom of God but not in our rank and privilege with God.
When we all stand before God at the great white throne judgment seat and the all of the things that are written in the books, according to our works that we did in this life are judged and tried by fire. I ask the question, how do you think you will feel about all this when you should have done more for God? Now, just imagine standing there before God and seeing all that you have lived for reduced to ashes. Then picture yourself standing in line and watching every one of the Saints before you receive a reward for their faithfulness and service to the King, Jesus. And at this time knowing that you had just as many opportunies to serve Him, but did nothing about them. If you would like to have a reward in Heaven you need to work for God now before it is too late. I would like to encourage all of my brothers and sisters in Christ to get out and help build up God’s Kingdom while there is still time left, because Jesus could returns to take His bride home (The Church) at anytime now. May God bless you always is my prayer Amen.
Note: I pray that these Scriptures have helped you in your bible study and understanding of Gods’ precious Holy word in the Bible. Please feel free to pass them on to other people if they have helped you.
